A little while ago I started understanding non-profits and the struggles they faced.
One of the biggest challenges was that they donāt have the resources to market their impact very well.
They donāt have funds to pay for advertising, they donāt have employees to build our marketing, and they donāt have time to build content.
So I started wonderingā¦
How can we as business owners help?
I obviously can just donate dollars to them,
But what if I could also help bring more awareness to their organization.
Thatās when I realized that business owners can be the MEGAPHONE for their non-profits.
The problem is, most business owners keep their donations private and donāt talk about it š¤
Weāve been taught that talking about where you donate or what you give is almost like talking about sex or politics. You just donāt do it.
But what if I could help you understand a different perspective?
Let me give you an example:
When I started my impact journey, we supported an organization called KidSport which helps put financially struggling kids through organized sports.
At first, we didnāt want to tell anyone, because thatās what we were taught.
But then we started promoting them at our monthly meet up and sharing that we donate $10 per month for every rental door we own in our real estate portfolio.
And for every 30 units we buy, we are able to sponsor 1 kid per month.
We also started sharing stories of the kids we were helping!!
ā¦What happened next is insane.
My friend who attended loved their mission, so she wanted to help raise money herself.
She launched āBurpees for Kidsāā¦ where all the gyms in town got together to raise money by doing 1000 burpees each.
SHEāS RAISED OVER $500,000 IN 4 YEARS OF HOSTING THIS EVENT!
Another developer friend became a platinum sponsor of their golf tournament and donates over $20,000 a year to their organization.
Our efforts were great, but JUST from the small group of people, we made 100X the impact we were able to by ourselves.
So what do you say, do you think its time to remove the stigma that talking about the charities we support is taboo and not cool?
Because watching my friends donate over $500,000 to a charity we introduced them to is one of the biggest gifts I could give to that cause.
ā¦We helped over 1500 kids getting access to sports that normally wouldnāt.
Because we became the MEGAPHONE for your charity
and PROUD of the donations we were giving to them.

TLDR:
Be the MEGAPHONE for your charity and talk about your partnership.
Invite your friends to learn about them and the work they do
You never know who is going to end up helping you donate over $500,000 to it.
Lets get rid of the stigma that talking about your charity is taboo or wrong. If you can help more of the cause you believe in by sharing about it, then you should do it!
